- "Shiatsu technique refers to the use of fingers and palm of one's hand to apply pressure to particular sections on the surface of the body for the purpose of correcting the imbalances of the body, and for maintaining and promoting health. It is also a method contributing to the healing of specific illnesses."

Shiatsu
treats the same points used in accupuncture; therefore,
performing Shiatsu properly requires a thorough knowledge of
Traditional Chinese Medicine and a specific plan for what we are
trying to accomplish. Although I have studied Shiatsu and
Traditional Chinese Medicine, they are
not my specialty, and I use them only in limited circumstances. I will refer you to another local practitioner
if you want a full Shiatsu massage.
