For Licensed Massage Therapists
CEUs for Massage Therapists:
I am a Texas pre-approved
continuing education provider. (License numbers MI2067
and CE1293.) Some of the courses offered are more
appropriate for laypeople than LMTs, and those are not
for CEU credit.
I offer small classes
so I can provide individual attention; I use multimedia presentations, and
I offer
courses geared to visual, tactile, or auditory learning
styles.

Business Opportunities
I am a sole practitioner, so I do not have a massage
establishment license. That means that under my current
licenses I can't hire any therapists and I have no need
for receptionists or other employees.
However, from time to time I do have clients that I
can not adequately serve. These are people with needs
outside my skill set or locations too far away from my
office. I like to keep a list of massage therapists with
complimentary skills that I can wholeheartedly recommend
to a prospective client.
I do insist on getting a massage from those
therapists before recommending them to clients.
See Swapping Massages
below.
Swapping Massages:
I like to get a massage every week. I'll bet you do
too.
I'll bet you don't get one though!
Like the shoemaker's children, we LMTs are often the
last to take care of ourselves. I like to take care of
myself by swapping massages with other LMTs.
It's cheaper than going to the spa.
I always learn something new, or at least
remember something I forgot.
It's always good to touch base with other people
in the field to discuss new laws, new developments,
courses we've taken, problems we've encountered, and
solutions we've found.
When you work alone, you need a periodic
"reality check," so you don't wander too
far from the industry standard. Exposure to other LMTs' methods
accomplishes this.
I like to swap with a wide variety of LMTs with
different skill sets and different attitudes. If you'd
like to swap, call me.
I started a massage swap group on
Meetup.com.
The group's name is
The Richardson Massage Swap Meetup. If you can make
the meetings, this is a better bet than calling me to
arrange an individual massage swap. For all the reasons
I listed above, you should check it out!
Feel free to call 214-395-8000
and discuss any serious legitimate business proposal. If I'm in session,
leave a message and I will return your call.
